The DPS SchoolChoice window for the 2022-23 school year is Jan. 13 through 4 p.m. Feb. 14, 2023.
To prepare for SchoolChoice, families — particularly those with incoming ECE, kindergarten, sixth- and ninth-grade students — should begin thinking about which schools might be of interest to them for the next school year.
Here’s how it works:
FIND the best DPS school options for your student. Use the mobile-friendly School Finder, read the Enrollment Guide (mailed to transition-grade families in early December), and contact schools directly for more information.
APPLY between 10 a.m. Jan. 13 and 4 p.m. Feb. 14, 2023 by ranking your preferred schools (up to 12) using the online SchoolChoice application. Create an account or sign in using your Parent Portal username and password at dps.schoolmint.net/signin. Access the application beginning at 10 a.m. Jan. 14.
REGISTER with your school after you get your school placement results in late March 2023.
Enroll in Your Neighborhood School
If you are new to Denver and need to enroll in a school for the current year, or your Denver address has changed, type your new address into School Finder to locate your neighborhood school. To enroll in your new neighborhood school, please bring proof of address, proof of age of the student and the student’s immunization record to the school’s front desk. Call the school for more details. Note: Due to space availability, preschool enrollment is not guaranteed.
Current DPS families – save time during fall registration by updating your student’s information online! By completing this process using your Parent Portal account, you can avoid paper forms and save time at the school during the fall return.
To register online, primary legal guardians of current DPS students must have an active DPS Parent Portal account. Visit myportal.dpsk12.org to sign up, or to check that your account is active and ready.
For more information on how to complete online registration, contact the front office or visit schoolchoice.dpsk12.org.
**Are you new to Denver? You can enroll and register directly in your neighborhood school. Locate your neighborhood school by typing in your address using School Finder, then contact the school for enrollment information.
