Parent/Student Portal

The Parent/Student Portal is your best resource to stay on top of the goings-on at Asbury. The Parent Portal’s uses include:

If you do not log into the Parent/Student portal for one year, the account will deactivate. We at Asbury are not able to reactivate the account, and you will have to reach out to the Parent Portal team to have it reactivated.

Follow the simple steps below in order to activate your Parent Portal account if you have not already done so:

It’s important to make sure your account is active or create a new account before the end of the school year, to ensure that the front office staff will be able to assist you with anything you may need help with. Parent Portal can be used to expedite the Summer Registration Process, which will be open before the beginning of the school year. Check back for the exact dates. You can only register online if your Parent Portal Account is active!

Student Pick-Up Options

We have four options for students after school: Kiss-n-Go pickup, Blacktop pickup, Bus pickup, and Discovery Link.

Inclement Weather

The decision to keep schools open or to close them during winter weather conditions is not a simple one, but it is made with one overriding factor in mind: the well-being of our students, their families, and staff. It is a good idea to decide in advance how to best keep up with the changes, what childcare arrangements are needed, and how to adjust if schools closed due to inclement weather.

Detailed DPS winter weather and snow day information, including information on how families can find out if school is closed, can be found on the DPS announcements page or the School Closures & Delays from 9News.com.

Inside Day Procedures

When the weather is turning:

Here’s a reminder about what we do on Inside Days. Parents, guardians, and students can assume that rainy, snowy, windy or exceptionally cold days(less than 20 degrees F) are Inside Days. This changes students’ arrival, recess, and dismissal in the following ways:

Dress appropriately:

Regardless of whether we are having an Inside or Outside day, students need to dress appropriately (e.g., coats, boots, mittens, hats, etc.). Students still need to be protected for the journey to/from home/school, as well as the playground, if the weather improves.

Parents of students who come to school unprepared for the weather will be contacted to determine whether the child needs additional clothing delivered from home or requires a donation from the WCE Coat Room.

Inside Day Arrival Procedures

Upon arrival, students will be directed to go to the following locations to be picked up by teachers at 9 a.m.

Morning/arrival (7:35 to 7:40 a.m.)

Inside Recess

An inside day means inside recess. Staff members are assigned to supervise students in either the auditorium or gymnasium, dependent upon grade level and day of the week. Please see the main office if you are looking for your child during recess.

Dismissal Procedures

Dismissal will occur normally on an inside day.
