Principal’s Corner

I hope you had a great holiday break.

For those of you who were unable to join us for CSC this past week, I wanted to share a little about what we heard the community is sitting with. We clearly heard that members of our community are feeling disconnected and craving connection especially given that we have just transitioned back to remote learning. Like I mentioned in our CSC meeting, it is up the upmost importance to have us as a community of parents, students and staff come together with the charge of ensuring we can return to January and reconnect as an inspired community. I have made it my goal to take action during this time and make space for us to come together so that all voices are represented as we make a return to school plan for the new year. This action will consist of creating a Return & Reconnect Committee that will consist of members from the Asbury staff, parents and students. We will meet together over the next two weeks with the goal of reconnecting as a community and setting up students so they can safely return to Asbury. If you would like to join this committee, please fill out this link (https://forms.gle/joETkeFXoCW2Jmue6) to let us know.

Dates of the Return and Reconnect Committee:

  • Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 5:00-6:00
  • Monday, December 14, 2020 from 5:00-6:00
  • Wednesday, December 16, from 5:00-6:00

In order to make this committee successful, we need everyone’s voices. We will leverage the input from these surveys as a committee to help influence our conversation when we meet. In order to gather as many voices as possible, we are asking for everyone to fill out a short survey. Below are links to both a student and staff/parent survey:
