Principal Message:

Eagle Families-

I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing fall break! I had a busy and rejuvenating break with my family. I traveled to Florida and went from coast to coast (Tampa to Cocoa Beach) and even made a stop at the most magical place on earth! DisneyWorld was busy, but my kids loved the rides and I loved all the snacks! It is good to be back in school and with 3 weeks until winter break, we are focused on making the most of this time.

Coming out of this holiday break, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is currently monitoring a rapid rise in outbreaks and hospitalizations related to the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). The number of RSV cases, coupled with COVID-19 and flu infections, is putting a strain on our pediatric healthcare system. Younger children and older adults are more likely to become seriously ill and hospitalized due to respiratory illnesses. Similar to the spikes and flare-ups we experienced last year with COVID-19, monitoring your students’ and staff’s health and safety are crucial. To help mitigate, please keep your students home from school if they have been diagnosed with RSV or if they are experiencing many of the common symptoms (cough, stuffy/runny nose, fever, fatigue).

In Partnership,

Jeanna Doung
