Victoria Harp: Victoria, our current 4th grade literacy teacher is shifting from a full time role to a part time. Luckily, she will be staying in her current position, just going part time. She and Ms. Van Sant will be splitting the 4th grade literacy role!
Brianna Knight: Brianna will be joining Asbury starting at the end of this year as a Dedicated Adult Support for one of our students in kindergarten. She comes to us with educational experience and a lot of passion to support her community!
As we wrap up this school year and start planning for the next school year. I wanted to share a few important dates, information about school supply lists, and information about the first day of school and other fun events coming up!
DPS Online Registration for 2025-2026 School Year:
Online registration is scheduled for July 28th– August 15th. Parents will access online registration via their Parent Portal account.
This requires a Parent Portal account at myportal.dpsk12.org and your student’s ID number. Here is a guide for new student registration.
Walk-in Registration is on August 11th and 13th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm – a Spanish translator will be available.
School Supply List – There are two options:
You may purchase your own supplies and bring them between August 11-13 between the hours of 9-12. Here is our school supply list for 25/26.
OR
Order online at https://www.edukitinc.com/schools/1654/ by June 20 for best pricing and free shipping. The last day to order is June 11. A confirmation will be emailed to you after your order has been placed. Your child’s EduKit will be dropped off in your child’s classroom. Extended ordering is available June 21 – July 4 for an additional fee and will be delivered to your home shortly before school begins.
First Day of School for 2025-26
August 18, 2025 – Monday – 7:40 a.m. – 2:40 p.m. The first Bell rings at 7:35 a.m. – Students are counted tardy beginning at 7:45 am and must be signed in the office.
Kindergarten students will be half-day for the first 3 days of school (sack lunch will be available) – Aug.18, 19, 20 from 7:40 – 11:00 a.m. – (Kindergarten teachers will contact you to schedule a one-on-one test for your student in the afternoon)

Thursday, August 21, 2025 – 5:00 – 6:15 p.m. Meet in the auditorium

We have many exciting events throughout the year, including Carnival, Read-A-Thon, Community Circles, PBL Expos, and Talent Shows! Volunteers will be recruited for many of these events, so stay tuned for further opportunities to get involved.

What’s top of Mind?
Field Day – tomorrow!! Wear Tennis shoes!!!
Field Day is May 16. 3-5 Grades will participate in the morning from 8:15-10:30 and K-2 will participate in the afternoon from 12:05-2:15. The Opening Ceremony will start at 8:00 for K-5. Please join us for this day. We will also have our DPS Board member, Kimberlee Sia, attending our field day starting at 12:30. It looks like a beautiful 70 degree day- please look through the lost and found at the snack station and we’ll have Kona Ice at school afterwards to wrap up the super fun day!

Lost and Found
The lost and found will be donated on Tuesday June 3.
New CDE Family Portal: Preliminary CMAS and CoALT Scores Available June 11
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) is releasing preliminary online CMAS and CoAlt (science and social studies) online score reports for families in their new Family Portal starting June 11. Final reports, with more detailed information such as score breakdowns that indicate strengths and areas for growth, peer comparisons and tips for home support, will be released later in June. As in the past, paper score reports will still be sent to schools in the fall, along with handouts in commonly spoken languages for distribution to families.
Student Council Announcement
Student Council is excited to host Asbury’s “Spring Spirit Week” which will be held from Tuesday, May 27th to Friday, May 30th. We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative styles! (Participation is optional.)

Wednesday, May 28th Crazy Hair Day (Show off your best hair-do!)
Thursday, May 29th: Sports Day (Wear anything related to sports)

Drop Off in the Morning Reminder
As a reminder, you can drop students off starting at 7:30 each morning. If you are with your child, you can most certainly come earlier, but if you are dropping them off without you there, then you will need to wait until 7:30 to ensure safety, as we have staff outside supervising starting at 7:30.
What’s Still Relevant?
Early Bird Registration: Early Bird Registration takes place May 5 – May 23 and allows for families to solidify their enrollment with school. If you have any questions, reach out to Enrollment Services.
Report Cards: Report Cards will be available starting June 3 through Parent Portal.
