Dear Asbury Community,
As you know, we have exciting news- construction on our air conditioning project will start this summer! Though this is VERY exciting, this will come with some impacts, including Asbury becoming a construction zone starting June 5, 2025. Asbury, the building, and much of the blacktop will be fenced off. Construction will start June 5 and go through August 11. The construction company has promised that though they have a lot of work to do, that they will be finished with this phase by the time teachers come back to the building on August 12.
This summer, the construction company is working to update the electrical and HVAC in every room, so most staff will be asked to pack up a portion of their room and others will be asked to pack up their room fully.
Though we will not have access to the building, as Asbury will be a construction site, the playground and field will still be open, so playdates can still occur at Asbury. The parking lot will be partially used by the construction company, but other spots will be open for use. They did also indicate that they may have to close down Marion Street for construction, though they are not entirely sure that they will need to do this.
I am sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns!
In Partnership,
Jeanna Doung
Principal

CMAS Information
CMAS testing has been completed with the exception of any make ups that we need to finish next week. We will be flipping back to a normal specials schedule (3, 4, 5 in the morning and K, 1, 2 in the afternoons) starting on Monday, 4/21. Thanks to everyone who supported this testing process and a shout out to the kids for working so hard. We celebrated today with ice cream sandwiches and some time outside for all of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.
