School Notes

Smartwatches that have the ability to text and/or email must be turned into the office at the beginning of the day. We have noticed that many students are now wearing them.

Over the Holiday break, DPS’s Technology department upgraded Asbury’s security system and installed a new doorbell/camera at the courtyard office door. However, it has now been moved to the “Front” door on Asbury Ave. (Where the buses pick up). This is where parents will ring to pick up students from Discovery Link.

Important Reminder: In order to promote independence, please drop your student off in the office if they are late. If you decide to accompany them- ALL visitors, parents, etc. MUST sign in at the office.
The Talent show has been moved to February 11th this year. Reminder – Talent show permission slips are due on Friday, January 24^th by 3:30 pm. We are starting to receive more and can’t wait to see what talents your kids have to share! Auditions are January 28th. Permission slips are on the website or in the office.
Kids Heart Challenge is kicking off and we don’t want you to miss out! Ask your friends and family to help you take the Kids Heart Challenge. More information to come following the school-wide assembly in the gym on Monday, January 13 from 2:15-2:50. Watch your Deets, Facebook, and Instagram on Monday afternoon for follow up information.
Come to Middle School Night in the Gym tonight from 5:00-6:00. Many schools will be here!

Yearbook Cover Artwork Contest

Thank you to all the artists for their fantastic submissions! The student whose artwork will be on the front cover is Mila Olaechea, The back cover will have four great pictures submitted by Lucia Romero, Max Giampaolo, Samantha Reyes, and Donavan Dao.

DU Sporting Events

Purchase tickets online at asbury-dutickets.cheddarup.com and they will be sent home with your student.
Purchase tickets on the playground at drop off and pick up on the following days:

Wednesday 1/15, Friday 1/17, Tuesday 1/21, Thursday 1/23, Wednesday 1/29, and Friday 1/31.

Ticket quantities are limited, so sales will end once we’re sold out.
