Dear Asbury Families,
As we approach the holiday season, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to our wonderful PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization). Their tireless efforts and unwavering support have been instrumental in creating an exceptional learning environment for our students and staff.
The PTSO’s contributions are invaluable. From hosting our annual Carnival in the fall, which is always a highlight for our students, to organizing the Spring Wing event in the spring, their dedication to bringing our community together is truly remarkable. They also have other crucial support committees, such as the Staff Appreciation Committee, which ensures our teachers feel valued, and they also support the Room Support Parents, who provide vital assistance in our classrooms throughout the year.
I am so grateful for the Backpack volunteers, which is another PTSO sponsored program for running the backpack program, which ensures that our students have access to the nourishment they need to thrive. PTSOs generosity and compassion are truly inspiring.
Thank you, PTSO leadership for all that you do. Our school would not be the same without the PTSO and the incredible families who make up our community.
This gratitude will be part of a weekly newsletter series- so get ready for so many others that we are thankful for!
In Partnership,
Jeanna Doung

HOPE Event
We are excited to have families in need invited to the HOPE. event. This is an event at Colorado Academy called HOPE (Helping Other People Eat). This is an event that they put on every year around the holidays where we invite families from around the Denver area to come to our campus and get free clothes, toys, a warm meal, optional flu vaccines, school supplies, personal care items, health resources and more! In addition, we have face painting, bouncy houses, and other fun activities to make this a fun and exciting day for families. Transportation to the event is available upon request. This is the 31st year they have done this event and this year the event will take place on December 14th from 9am – 2pm at Colorado Academy! This event is also translated in multiple languages. They wanted to send a warm invitation to any Asbury Elementary School family who may benefit from this event to attend and wanted to spread the word as best as possible. They have created a save the date flier which is below. Please pass this information along to families. Link: HOPE Event Information
