  • Calendar Information:

    This is release 1.3 of the Calendar Plugin.

    Calendar entries consist of a short (32 char) text entry, which appears on the calendar for the date you choose.

    You can optionally include a url when you create the entry. If included, the text entry appears as a link on the calendar. You could link to a story, newsitem, discussion group message or a picture on your site, or a url to anywhere else. You can either copy the url in your browser and paste it into the form, or enter one manually.

    The calendar always remembers the last month displayed, and will return to it. A future version of the plugin may use cookies to remember each visitor's last calendar selection.

    Managing Editors have editorial access to the plugin. A preference can be set to allow Contributing editors access, but this can only be changed by a Managing Editor.

    The Add and Delete functions work within the current month being displayed on the calendar. (This is to minimize the possibility of calendar conflicts, since you first have to look at the month you're going to change)

    In adding items, there is a popup selector to choose the date to add to. For deletion, the items in the current month are listed, and you can check off the ones you wish to delete.

    There are two choices for navigation. The default is a popup menu selector for month and year, but you can change this to a next-month and last-month button combination. (The popup selectors show the current month and year being shown on the calendar. The year can select a year behind and ahead of the current displayed year.)

    There is a preference that controls whether or not to show weekends.

    You probably will want to add a navigation link to your site's Preferences - under Advanced, in the Navigation table. Use this as an example:

    <item name="Calendar" pagename="/YourSiteName/tablecal/"/>
