Asbury Elementary School
PTA Meeting Minutes August 19, 2008
Meetings usually held the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the faculty lounge. We encourage and welcome any parents to join and participate.
Presidents’ Report:
- Carnival: Lengthy discussion regarding the carnival.
- Asbury Achievement Fund: PTA would like to purchase additional laptops this year.
- Teacher Grants: PTA voted to again provide each teacher with a $125.00 grant. Details of reimbursement still need to be worked out.
- Web Site: Needs to be updated.
Issues Tabled for Future Discussion:
- Grocery Certificates: We need to decide if we want to purchase additional grocery certificates.
- Water – Teachers: Not necessary for this year. This will be tabled for future discussion.
- Art Festival: We need to check with Ms. Werner as to her plans.
- Greening: $5,000.00 left in Greening Fund.
Vice President Report:
- Box Tops raised $738.00.
- RIF: Approved again this year.
Treasurer Report:
- Discussed putting a portion of PTA funds into an interest-bearing account.
New Business:
- Back to School Night: PTA will set up that night.
- Fundraisers: “Ugly Coffee”. Do we want to sell it? Whole Foods – donate “bag” money to schools.
