Principal’s Report: Anita
announced that she will be the permanent principal at Asbury. Anita
passed around a thank you note to the PTA for purchasing the

waiting to hear when the funds will be available for the learning
landscape. She would like to incorporate a kiss and drop zone to help
make drop off and pick up safer for drivers and pedestrians. DPS
security has been monitoring and giving warnings after school. Treasurer’s Report: The
babysitters’ pay has been increased from $10-$15. The grocery cards

in the hall. There will also be a few challenge problems in the main
hall. PTA is paying for pizza and cookies from Mulberries. There are
enough drinks left over. Volunteers may still be needed to help serve
in the lunchroom.

the morning of Tuesday, February 17th from 8:00-10:00 by
invitation. This is a no school day for students. PTA will provide
breakfast for the teachers. Maybe bagels and coffee?
February PTA meeting Since the
meeting is scheduled for 2/17 there will be no meeting on this date
and a parent workshop will be scheduled instead. Anita is checking
with the DPS liaison for available dates in February. The topic will
probably be homework help.
Minimum numbers for interpretation:
In order for an interpreter to be at the meetings, there needs to be
at least 6 people. There was 1 at tonight’s meeting. Nina makes
invitation calls to parents, but people wondering if the ideas at
meetings are too abstract or if parents feel uncomfortable being part
of a smaller group.

be on Jan. 29th and 30th. It will be pretty
low-key, but the Spring distribution will be more elaborate.

contest Nancy will check with Suzanne to see if she still has the
form we used last time. The flyer will be sent home at the beginning
of March and designs will be due after Spring Break

into the details about a grant writing workshop available to anyone
working with schools and non-profit groups to help cover the cost of
classes. Someone is also looking into Club Amigos to provide after
school classes.
New Business: Larry suggested a
several banners that can be hung outside of the school announcing PTA
meetings. He has noticed these at several other schools in the area.
Kim will check to see if there are any available through Colorado
PTA, but Colleen Nyhus knows of a printer that can produce them also.
Corby Wise suggested a Spring
food/clothing drive instead of a fundraiser. Corby and Jean Wise will
head the committee to work out the logistics involved. Anita will
check with Nancy Holtgraves on suggestions for families in need and
supplies that are needed.
