Mission Statement
To advance the health and wellness of Asbury Elementary School students through parents collaborating with the school administration and staff to promote a healthy school environment.
2010-2011 School Year Successes
•Formalized the Healthy Asbury Committee
•Initiated the Door-to-Door Organics Asbury co-op
•Prompted the cafeteria staff to enable children who bring their lunches to school to still purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from the salad bar for .50 cents
Other 2010-2011 School Year Objectives
•Make at least one evidence-based environment or policy change related to student physical activity or nutrition
•Support parent-, staff-, or community-driven health initiatives within the school
•Incorporate students voices when making positive health-related changes at school
•Evaluate progress of the Healthy Asbury Committee
